Businessmen of Pakistani origin visits PBIT to identify opportunities

A group of businessmen of Pakistani origin with business interests in Middle East, USA and UK visited Punjab Board of Investment & Trade and had a productive meeting with CEO PBIT and representatives from TDCP, PITB, Sports Board and Bank of Punjab.

CEO PBIT Dr. Erfa Iqbal briefed the delegation on various sectors and availability of numerous potential opportunities for investors in Punjab. She pointed out that the immense potential for collaboration majorly existed in various sectors across the province.

The delegation thanked PBIT for highlighting the prospective opportunities in Punjab and said that their main purpose was to identify mutual areas of collaboration in which they could offer their expertise and business consultancy services. The visiting delegation shown keen interest in sports, tourism, vocational trainings, IT, fruit processing and agri-exports sectors, wherein they sought information on the initiatives undertaken by the Government of Punjab and available investment opportunities under various departments.

Representatives of PITB, BOP, Sports Board and TDCP briefed the delegation on initiatives under their departments. PITB gave the delegates a demonstration of Punjab Tourism App. BOP briefed on “Punjab Rozgar Scheme”, Kamyab Jawan Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme and Prime Minister’s NAYA Pakistan Housing Program and disseminated brochures among the delegates.

Dr. Erfa Iqbal expressed hope to utilize this opportunity to convert them into Ambassadors of Punjab. She requested the delegation to share details of their business interest, complete company profile and planned initiatives.

BOP proposed to host a zoom meeting for further discussion on the subject while the participants agreed upon firming up the proposals for cooperation. TDCP, Sports Board, and PITB shall undertake separate follow up meetings with the delegation.
