PBIT asked to form Pak-Saudi Business Council

Punjab Board of Investment and Trade welcomed a high profile Saudi delegation led by Meshal Al Otaibi, General Manager ARE Consultants, and a number of key overseas Pakistanis interested to invest in Pakistan.

CEO PBIT Jahanzeb Burana along with his senior officials met the delegation. The discussion focused around trade between the two brotherly countries and the possible investment opportunities in prospective sectors in Punjab. The delegation aims at developing economy of Pakistan by bringing in investments for the country and increasing trade relations.

Burana briefed the delegation about PBIT being a provincial investment promotion agency and its core mandate of facilitating investors with one window facilitation. He highlighted the investment opportunities in Punjab and shared with them an exclusive presentation on the Pitch Books designed by the organization for the convenience of investors giving them an entire insight on the opportunities and scope of investment in various sectors. He briefed them about the Special Economic Zones and even the launch of 7 new SEZs that will be a great value addition to the province.

The delegation emphasized on ease of doing business for the convenience of investors and to tap full benefit from the opportunities available in the region.

The Saudi delegation urged PBIT to constitute a Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Business Council to increase economic cooperation and friendship between the two countries and to prepare plans and programmes towards that object as well as to help and guide businessmen of the two countries for participation in fairs and exhibitions of the two countries. Execution and formulation of such council will be very productive in enhancing trade ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
